January 8th - 10th 2010This was the Club's first ever meet and was a resounding success. It was well attended despite the wintry roads. The weather was brilliant clear blue skies with crisp snow under foot. Two groups headed to Langadale with one group going for winter scrambling on Tarn Crag before descending to Stickle Tarn before contouring round over Dungeon Ghyll and back to the carpark. The other group braved the icy paths and made their way to Elterwater with some innovative new crampon and ice axe use! Both groups met in Elterwater for some of the best chips in the Lakes before retiring to Shackleton for mulled wine. The Annual Dinner was held at The Tagore and was well attended by about 26 who all had a great time.I hope this is the start of many successful meets.Gillian Tuddenham
