On the Edge of the World - the 2008 Foula expedition continued BEG's work in Britain's remotest community, helping the Foula Heritage Group in their survey of Foula's wells, carrying out fieldwork to study a major landslide, and peat-bagging for some of the elder island residents.However, the fieldwork left plenty of time for coastal walks, birdwatching, bracing swims, ceilidhs and, of course, snecking.Read the full report by clicking on the link below.
2008 was another successful year for Brathay Gold expeditioners. 16 of 18 participants completed their Gold venture. Participants came from UK and from as far as the Middle East to undertake their training, practice and assessment parts of the award, and to enjoy some 'changeable' English weather.
